Technology partnership offers, within one single platform, a comprehensive look into risk of doing business with third-parties

NEW YORK and CONCORD, Mass., Jan. 17, 2016 – SecurityScorecard, the leader in security ratings, today announced a technology partnership with ProcessUnity to embed its proprietary security rating capabilities within ProcessUnity’s cloud-based third-party risk management solution.

“Our customers range from small community banks to large Fortune 50 enterprises and they all need real-time visibility into the state of third-party risk,” said Todd Boehler, Vice President of Product Strategy at ProcessUnity.

“With the integration of SecurityScorecard’s proprietary monitoring and rating platform, our clients are gaining accurate and critical visibility into the overall security risk posed by vendors.”
ProcessUnity customers will now be able to access three levels of progressively detailed information about third parties, provided by SecurityScorecard, through their existing ProcessUnity reports and dashboards.

Overall vendor security ratings

The first level provides a comprehensive security score for each vendor based on SecurityScorecard’s rating system; A, B, C, D and F grades are determined by continuously measuring and analyzing hundreds of risk indicators for critical security layers.

10 critical risk categories evaluated

The next level allows users to dive deeper and view individual ratings for 10 critical risk categories, from DNS health to employee security awareness, that contribute to the overall security rating; each factor is comprised of hundreds of user behavior patterns, security events, and other key data points.

Security vulnerability details

The most detailed level enables customers to view the precise issues detected for each of the 10 risk categories; customers can drill down and view a specific third-party’s security breaches, such as patching cadence, the number of malware infections, or the number of company mentions on hacker chatter forums.

“Third-party security risk is a major area that cannot be ignored as a business issue,” said Michael Rogers, Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Channels at SecurityScorecard. “ProcessUnity customers using SecurityScorecard’s ratings data can protect revenues and brand integrity by continuously validating the security risk profile of their third-party networks.”
